The fastener for connecting two metal sheets at right angles has a head (1) which is connected to a shaft (2) with a longitudinal central slit (3). The shaft is inserted through an aperture in one sheet while the second sheet is inserted into the slit. The base of the slit has a section (4) at an angle of 20 - 60[deg], into which the base of the sheet fits, which connects with a second angled section (5). An independent claim is included for a method for connecting metal sheets at right angles using the fastener.
