MANUFACTURE OF FUEL CELL

A fuel cell is manufactured using an electrolyte membrane (1). Catalyst layers (12) are formed at certain intervals in the length direction on a strip-shaped electrolyte membrane (1). Along both edges, transfer holes (10) are formed in lines at certain intervals. By rotating a transfer roller (32) having projections engageable with the holes (10), the electrolyte membrane (1) is fed out from a reel (9). A GDL (6) and a separator (7) are bonded to the fed electrolyte membrane (1) at a predetermined processing timing based on the rotational speed of the transfer roller (32) so as to make a stack of the GDL (6), the separator (7), and the catalyst layer (12). Thus a fuel cell is manufactured efficiently.
