PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolytic capacitor whose contact structure between a capacitor element and a lead frame is improved, the capacitor element has a larger volume, and its volume efficiency is improved. SOLUTION: The capacitor element 10 of the solid electrolytic capacitor is constructed so that a cathode is formed on the outer surface of an anode lead wire 50 extruded from the front surface 10a. A cathode lead frame 30 is of a plate shape surface-contacting with the whole of the back surface 10b of the capacitor element 10. A recess is formed on a center portion of an end of an anode lead frame 20 so that the anode lead wire 50 of the capacitor element 10 is stably located on the recess to be electrically connected, and a mold 40 is formed to cover the capacitor element 10, the cathode lead frame 30, and the anode lead frame 20.
