PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of preventing the ignition and smoking caused by tracking phenomenon. SOLUTION: This air conditioner includes a compressor 12 and a preheating means 11 for preheating the compressor in an outdoor machine 2, and comprises a power supply switching means 9 for controlling ON/OFF of the power supply to the outdoor machine, a storing means 10 for storing the stop of the operation caused by abnormality, and a control part 8 for controlling the power supply switching means on the basis of contents stored in the storing means in an outdoor machine 1. The control part 8 switches off the power supply switching means 9 not to supply the power to the outdoor machine in a case when the memory on the occurrence of abnormality exists in the storing means, in starting the preheating, and switches on the power supply switching means 9 to supply the power to the outdoor machine 2 when the memory on the occurrence of abnormality does not exist in the storing means.
