<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus by which a quantity of toner remaining in a toner storage part fixed to the image forming apparatus and downstream of a replaceable toner storage container can correctly be calculated/displayed if detection is made that the toner storage container is empty. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus discharges toner in the freely attachable/detachable toner storage container into the toner storage part fixed in the image forming apparatus and forms a toner image with toner conveyed further downstream than the toner storage part. The image forming apparatus includes: a conveyed toner quantity measurement means for measuring a quantity of toner conveyed further downstream of the toner storage part; and a remaining toner quantity calculation means for calculating a quantity of toner remaining in the toner storage part, based on the conveyed toner quantity measurement means. The image forming apparatus further comprises a control means for controlling so that if the toner in the toner storage container is not discharged to the toner storage part, the quantity of toner remaining in the toner storage part is calculated by the remaining toner quantity calculation means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
