<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which condensation on optical components in a light beam scanning means is prevented and transfer failure, conveyance failure, etc., caused by moisture absorption of sheets can also be prevented. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes the laser scanning unit (light beam scanning means) 31 which scans the surface of a photoreceptor drum (photoreceptor) 11 with a laser beam (light beam) along specific scanning lines, and a paper feed cassette (sheet storing means) 20 which stores sheets S. In the image forming apparatus, the laser scanning unit 31 and the paper feed cassette 20 are disposed near to each other so that the laser scanning path of the laser scanning unit 31 and the paper feed cassette 20 are almost parallel.
