PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent expansion of layout of a belt type continuously variable transmission in the cross direction of a vehicle. SOLUTION: One shaft 64 of a gear device 60 for displacing a movable part 452 of a driving pulley 45 of the belt type continuously variable transmission along a crank shaft 41 is extended to form a sensor output shaft. The sensor output shaft 64 is formed with a worm gear 641 in a tip thereof, and a rotation sensor 112 is connected to a shaft 111 of a worm wheel 110 to be engaged with the worm gear 641. Namely, the shaft 111 of the rotation sensor 112 and the sensor output shaft 64 are laid out to cross each other. The gear device 60, the worm gear 641 and the worm wheel 110 are covered with an actuator cover 58 separately structured from a cover 401 for a crank case 40. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
