PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressed talc exhibiting excellent dispersibility even if having high bulk density when being added into a thermoplastic resin and melted and mixed, and to provide an index by which the degree of the dispersibility of the compressed talc is evaluated before mixing with the thermoplastic resin. SOLUTION: The granular talc (compressed talc) is obtained by deaerating powdery talc having 0.1-10μm average primary particle diameter without directly compressing and after that, compressing it and has 0.6-0.94 g/cm<SP>3</SP>bulk density and 70-100 wt.% destruction rate.
