摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio beacon facility and an azimuth detection method dispensing with adjustment by trained technique or the like in addition to a small size with minimized power consumption. SOLUTION: A central element 4 is raised in the center of an earth plate 3, and a plurality of peripheral elements 5 are raised on the circumference of a fixed radius from the center. A variable reactance circuit 6 is connected to each peripheral element 5. An amplitude modulated wave is supplied to the central element 4 to radiate a reference phase signal. On the other hand, no electricity is fed to the peripheral elements 5, and the reactance value of the circuit 6 is controlled by the use of a variable reactance control part 8. According to this, a current by radiation coupling with the central element 4 can be induced only in a single peripheral element 5 to make it a radiation source, this radiation source can be moved along the circumference, and a variable phase signal can be radiated by an effective (substantial) Doppler effect.
