<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain stable recording quality by preventing a recording part from coming into contact with a recording sheet material, when double-sided recording is performed by means of the recording sheet material where warping occurs. <P>SOLUTION: In the double-sided recording, the fed recording sheet material is carried to the recording part; after the recording on a front surface, the sheet material is carried to a part 2 for turning the sheet material upside down, turned upside down and recarried to the recording part, so that the recording can be applied to a back surface; and an interval between an end surface of a recording head 11 of the recording part and the recording sheet material can be changed in the recording on the front surface and the recording on the back surface. A first interval suitable for the recording sheet material with standard thickness and quality, and a second interval longer than the first interval can be arbitrarily selected; the second interval is selected in the recording in which there is a risk of the contact of the recording head 11 with the recording sheet material due to an influence of the warping and the like; and the first interval is selected in the recording in which there is little risk of the contact. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
