<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deformation of a metal separator with reliability and to secure a desired sealing function of a stepped MEA with a simple and economical structure. <P>SOLUTION: First and second sealing members 42, 50 are integrated with first and second metal separators 18, 20. On the two surfaces of the first metal separator 18, a first inner protruded seal 46a and a second inner protruded seal 46b are located at substantially the same position, and a first outer protruded seal 44a and a second outer protruded seal 44b are located at substantially the same position. The second sealing member 50 comprises: a first flat seal 52 that is in contact with the first outer protruded seal 44a of the first sealing member 42; and a second flat seal 54 that is in contact with the second inner protruded seal 46b and the second outer protruded seal 44b of the first sealing member 42 making up another power generating cell 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
