<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulation material which shows good shape retainability in placement and does not undergo separation due to its own weight or due to a decrease in its strength during service. <P>SOLUTION: The heat insulation material is produced by adding 1 to 30% (outer percentage) twisted yarns or braids of an alumina fiber to a ceramic fiber mixture comprising 10 to 40 mass% ceramic fiber, 5 to 30 mass% (in total) at least one member selected from among silica sol, alumina aggregate, silica aggregate, cement, and an organic thickener, and the balance of water. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
