PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a filter continuous material capable of producing a filter having uniform filter characteristics, and to provide an apparatus for producing the filter continuous material. SOLUTION: The method for producing the filter continuous material comprises transferring at least one kind of cut fiber 27 which is substantially completely scattered in the direction of a conveyor 32 by transfer air, forming fiber fleeces 29, 33, 34 which are formed out of the fiber 27 and at least partially contacted with each other on a surface of the conveyor 32, putting the fiber fleeces on a cover belt 42, and covering the fiber fleeces with the cover belt 42. The apparatus 9 for producing the filter continuous material has dropping units 11, 53 for transferring a filter material comprising the scattered fiber onto the conveyor for the purpose of producing the fiber fleeces, a forming unit 56 for wrapping the cover belt 42 around the fiber fleeces, and units 36, 54, 62, 63, 66, 70, 72, 73 for transferring the fiber fleeces from the conveyor 32 to the forming unit 56, wherein the dropping units transfer the filter material 27 by the transfer air.
