CODING /MULTIPLEXING APPARATUS IN INFORMATION TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To normally attain the decoding processing of important information even on the occurrence of an error in the important information such as header information by providing error immunity capability to a bit sequence itself in a system wherein an image or the like subjected to compression coding is transmitted.

SOLUTION: In the coding / multiplexing apparatus including: a means for dividing a plurality of kinds of a compression coding sequence obtained by applying compression coding to an input signal into units of coding; a means for attaching stuffing bits to the divided compression code sequence by each division unit to generate multiplexed unit code sequences; and a means for multiplexing the multiplexed unit code sequences to generate a multiplexed code sequence, the multiplexed unit code sequences are characterized in to have a length being an integer multiple of a predetermined length.
