PURPOSE: An over-slam bumper of a hood for protecting a pedestrian is provided to reduce injury of the pedestrian by absorbing impact applied to the pedestrian in bumping the pedestrian into the bumper of the vehicle and preventing rattle noise of the hood in traveling. CONSTITUTION: An over-slam bumper of a hood is composed of an elastic over-slam bumper body(100), a spring member(120) contained in the body, and a supporting member supporting the lower part of the spring member. A spiral groove is formed in the over-slam bumper body, and a blade plate(34) supporting the body is inserted to the spiral groove. A containing part is formed in the lower part of the body to contain the elastic member. Impact is absorbed first by deforming the blade plate in bumping the pedestrian into the hood of the vehicle, and shock is absorbed secondarily by compressing the elastic member.
