<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently transmit data by switching a method of imparting significance level to each packet in accordance with packet receiving condition. <P>SOLUTION: A data transmitting part 10 transmits a packet while imparting a sequence number and significance level thereto. A data receiving part 20 uses the imparted sequence number to detect a packet loss and when the loss of a highly significant packet is detected, retransmission is requested. On the basis of detected packet loss information, the data receiving part 20 creates and transmits an RR packet 110 representing the packet receiving condition. The data transmitting part 10 extracts a packet loss rate 200 from the RR packet and uses its value to switch the method for imparting significance level. The method for imparting significance level is switched, so that highly significant packets can be reduced when the packet loss rate 200 is high, and that highly significant packets can be increased when the packet loss rate 200 is low. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
