METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SECURING DATABASE

PURPOSE: A method and a device for securing a database are provided to keep the security of a user mail by encrypting/storing the user mail downloaded from a main server and safely keep a local database on a mail client by using the MAPI(Message Application Programming Interface). CONSTITUTION: The databases(111,112) store the user mail. An encrypting part encrypts an item selected from the mail stored in the database by a user and stores the encrypted mail in the database. An encryption/decryption part(130) decrypts/displays the encrypted mail to a certified user when the user accesses the mail stored in the database. An MAPI tool(120) transmits a message between the database and the encryption/decryption part as an MAPI object form.
