<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail connection member which is low in cost and easy to handle by virtue of its simplified structure, and realizes sufficient connection strength, to thereby ensure the safety of a handrail. <P>SOLUTION: The handrail connection member 1 is formed of male and female connection members 3, 2. The male connection member 3 has a handrail joint portion 3a which is attached to an end of one handrail on a proximal end thereof, and a connection portion 3b on a distal end thereof. The female connection member 2 has a handrail joint portion 2a which is attached to an end of the other handrail on a proximal end thereof, and a connection hole 2b formed into which the connection portion 3b of the male connection member 3 is inserted in a distal end thereof. The female connection member 2 has an almost disk-like engaging plate 4 which is to be arranged on an end face of the handrail end in the handrail joint portion, and is mounted on the handrail end rotatably around an axial line. Then a fastening screw 11 is penetrated from an outer peripheral surface of the male connection member 2 in a radial direction through the connection portion 3b of the male connection member 3, to fix both the connection members together, whereby both the ends of both the handrails are connected together. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
