PURPOSE: A device for expanding an artificial satellite solar cell array of a cam plate drive type is provided to safely expand the solar cell array in a mission orbit, prevent breakage of the solar cell array, and securely expand the solar cell array. CONSTITUTION: A device for expanding an artificial satellite solar cell array of a cam plate drive type comprises an upper bracket(1) comprising a roller(6) to the outside of a flange part, a static body(7) to the inside, and a ratchet(11) to opposite side of the static body; a rotating shaft(4) rotatably connecting the flange parts of upper bracket and a lower bracket(2); the lower bracket connected to the upper bracket by the rotating shaft and fixed to the artificial satellite solar cell array; a driving shaft(9) in which a torsional spring(10) is inserted to the lower side of the flange part of the lower bracket, to supply rotation power; and a cam plate(3) connected to the tip of a side of the driving shaft. The cam plate has an elongated hole(3').
