PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upper die for punch presses with which the height of a punching head is adjusted with one hand even in the state where it is mounted to a punch press. SOLUTION: In an upper die for punch presses which is provided with the punching head freely vertically adjustably in the upper part of a punch driver, the punching head 31 is provided integrally on the punch driver 21 by screwing it vertically movably to a screwing member 25, a locking piece 37 which is freely locked in and separated from locking grooves 29 formed at proper intervals on the outer periphery of the screwing member 25 is provided on the punching head 31, a locking means for holding the locking piece 37 in the fixed state where it is engaged with a locking groove 29 is provided on the punching head 31, the screwing member 25 and the punching head 31 are united and mounted attachably and detachably to the punch driver 21 in the state where they are united.
