PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for detecting a leakage current are provided to accurately detect the generation of the leakage current by applying a first and a second pulse signals to two wirings, thereby rapidly coping with the situation. CONSTITUTION: A method for detecting a leakage current includes the steps of: a first step of applying a first and a second pulse signals to two wirings, wherein the first and the second pulse signals having 180 degrees of phase difference from each other; a second step of detecting the first and the second pulse signals applied to the two wirings at the first step on the ground; and a third step of calculating the leakage current generation position by using the pulse signal detected at the second step and the first and the second pulse signals applied at the first step.
