SOLUTION: The multicore optical connector holding device 10 for holding the multicore optical connector 113 at a specified posture is equipped with an abutting surface 11 that a connection end surface 114 of the multicore optical connector 113 abuts against, a couple of guide pins 12 which are provided on the abutting surface 11 corresponding to a couple of guide holes 120 provided to the multicore optical connector 113 and detachably engage with the couple of guide holes 120, and an observation hole 13 which is bored in the abutting surface 11 while having its one end side positioned between the couple of guide pins 12 and that multicore optical fibers projecting in an array state from the connection end surface 114 of the multicore optical connector 113 face.
