<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate for a cycle delay developed by cable length between various nodes and hubs by a delay circuit by allowing control of frame alignment by means of the hubs. <P>SOLUTION: A data communication system, such as a local area network, is provided with a capability of transmitting isochoronous data. The data communication system transmits both isochronous data and non-isochronous data by time division-multiplexing the data into a recurring frame structure in four-bit nibble unit.
