PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel that is inexpensive, can make large click sound without increasing the snapping force in a click mechanism and has good durability. SOLUTION: The click mechanism for a fishing reel comprises a sounding body 41 in a disk form that rotates accompanying the rotation of a spool 3 and the sound-emitting member 33 that comes into contact with the sounding body 41. On the surface of the sounding body 41 opposing to the sound-emitting member 33, a plurality of unevenness are formed in the peripheral direction to generate click sound by engaging with the sound-emitting member 33. In this case, the unevenness are arranged so that the height of the unevenness to the standard face of the sounding body 41 makes steps 57, 57A with mutually different heights in the circumferential direction according the disk rotation directions.
