<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sorting method for shredder dust excellent in the sorting properties of shredder dust, having no abrasion part and excellent in durability, and to provide a sorting apparatus therefor. <P>SOLUTION: By a magnetic field, which is generated by the eddy current generated in shredder dusts (11 and 12) being objects to be sorted comprising a nonmetal or a non-magnetic metal passing in front of magnets, and magnetic force generated between the magnets, the force in the direction vertical to the moving direction of the objects is allowed to act on the objects not only to deflect the objects but also to move them to different positions to sort them.
