PURPOSE: An opening and closing device of a trunk by using a motor is provided to shut the trunk door by operating a switch simply in starting without closing the trunk door completely, and to fix the position of the trunk door without binding in case of closing the trunk door incompletely owing to load. CONSTITUTION: A trunk opening and closing device is composed of a motor cylinder(100) connecting a vehicle body(10) to a trunk door(20) and varying the length according to driving force of a driving motor, and a hydraulic cylinder keeping the balance of the trunk door. The motor cylinder has a hollow rod type case, the driving motor embedded in the case, a gear unit installed in a rotating shaft of the driving motor to transmit rotational force axially through the rotating shaft, and a cylinder rod transmitting axial rotational force of the gear unit into linear motion.
