FIELD: rolled stock production, possibly rolling strips and sheets. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of rolling strips between upper and lower rolling rolls with S-shaped profiled portions turned one relative to another by 180 degrees; controlling profile of rolled strips at mutual axial motion of rolls; at changing rolls performing rotation of positions of upper and lower rolling rolls and simultaneously changing direction set for mutual axial motion of rolls at controlling profile of strips; placing rolling rolls of continuous group of stands of rolling mill in such a way that S-shaped profiled portions of similar rolling rolls of even stands are turned relative to S-shaped profiled portions of rolls of odd stands by 180 degrees. EFFECT: lowered non-uniformness of roll wear, increased useful life period of backup and rolling rolls, reduced wedge shape and camber of rolled strips. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
