PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based coating containing bubbles having excellent uniformity and capable of stably existing, and a sheet having a coated layer excellent in heat insulating property and concealing property obtained by applying the same. SOLUTION: The water-based coating comprises an aqueous medium and a hydrophobic pigment and has bubbles dispersed therein. Preferably, the bubbles are formed by surrounding air with the hydrophobic pigment and the aqueous medium comprises water and a polymer for forming a coating film. The coating may further contain a surface tension-modifier. Preferably, the hydrophobic pigment has an M value of 10-80 and an average primary particle size of 0.01-5μm. The coated sheet contains a vacant space surrounded by the hydrophobic pigment inside the coated layer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
