PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrophilized wax composition giving a wax coating layer of which the surface is hydrophilic and giving gloss and enduring anti-pollution property to a base material. SOLUTION: This hydrophilized wax composition contains a hydrophilicity giving agent having a hydrolysable group which is hydrolyzed and converted to a hydrophilic group in the presence of water and at the same time condensed and polymerized, for example, a hydrophilicity giving agent comprising an organometallic compound having a hydrolyzable leaving group, its oligomer, and/or a cooligomer of at least two of the organometallic compounds, and a wax component, and forms a hydrophilic wax coating layer by applying it on a base material and then by wiping.
