<p>A matrix of hardened material, typically biocompatible material, is formed by contacting a hardenable liquid with a volume blanking structure, the structure having a dispersion of interconnected spaces and including a hardening agent, and allowing the hardenable liquid to harden by interaction with the hardening agent to form the matrix. The volume blanking structure may be removed to leave corresponding voids in the matrix of hardened material. The hardenable liquid may contain viable cells.</p> |
