PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring method for soundness of thermal spray whereby, in forming a thermal spray film, the stability of a plasma flame (or a high- speed gas flame), the soundness of a torch, and the supply of a thermal spray powder can be accurately known. SOLUTION: In a method for monitoring the soundness of thermal spray in forming the thermal spray film by thermally spraying the thermal spray powder with a plasma flame or a high-speed gas flame, only the plasma flame or the high-speed gas flame is jetted to the front surface of a platy specimen and the temperature distribution of the back surface of the specimen is measured. |
