Printing pile fabric, particularly towelling

Pigment print is applied first to determine the pattern outlines on the pile fabric. The standard binder amt. in the pigment dye is at least doubled, and pref. increased tenfold. The surfaces are subsequently provided with a vat print, particularly an indanthrene print. Pref. the pattern contours applied by the pigment print and which cover and glue the fibres together, are 1-2 mm. wide, and 200-300 g. binder are used per kg. dye. Both pigment- and vat print are pref. applied by screen-printing.
