[Also in Group VI] In a machine for making mouthpieces of filter tips for cigarettes, a crepe paper web 1 is fed from a reel 2 provided with a web-tensioning device comprising a feeler arm 111 pivoted at 110 and resting on the reel, an arm 113 connected thereto being connected to a spring loaded brake-band 116 engaging a brake drum 115 on the reel. As the reel diminishes in size the brake band is automatically loosened. |
