PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device of which, the life of a cold cathode discharge tube is not shortened and lowering of brightness does not start at early stage by restraining mercury from becoming ineffective, depending on the movement of mercury toward the neighboring area of electrodes. SOLUTION: The movement of mercury toward the neighboring area of electrodes is restrained by lowering temperature at the neighboring area of O-rings 2 of a cold cathode discharge tube 1, by heat radiation of the O-rings 2 made of highly heat conductive resin. |
