PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera manufacturing method and a camera capable of simultaneously satisfying the variety of consumer's needs and the reduction of the cost, and also to provide a camera manufacturing method capable of rapidly coping with a variation in consumer's need. SOLUTION: The camera main body is formed as a common component, and only an electrode member for setting the changing extent of a focal distance is prepared as an individual component for every kind of equipment, and then, different types of cameras having a different focal distance which can be set by the combination of the camera main body and the electrode member are manufactured. Besides, an operating member for setting the function of the camera is arranged on a cover, and by combining various covers with the camera main body formed as the common component, different types of cameras having different functions are manufactured.
