A method, apparatus and data structure enabling multiple channel data stream transmission by inserting data to be transmitted into portions of a plurality of transport streams nominally including NULL packets. The inserte d packets have associated with them stream identification and sequence code information enabling the reconstruction of the initial data stream using dat a packets transmitted via a plurality of data channels.
