Isocyanate-free expandable mixtures containing (A) isocyanate-free alkyloxy terminated prepolymers (A) and (B) a propellant are new. Isocyanate-free expandable mixtures containing (A) isocyanate-free alkyloxy terminated prepolymers (A), with silane end groups of formula (I): Where: X and Y = oxygen, an N-R<3> group, or S, R<1> = alkyl,alkenyl, or 1-10C aryl, R<2> = 1-2C alkyl or 2-10C oxalkyl, R<3> = H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, or 1-10 C aryl, or a group and z = 0 or 1, with the proviso that at least one of groups X and Y shows an NH function, and (B) a propellant. Independent claims are included for: (1) a pressure element containing a mixture (claimed); and (2) preparation of prepolymer A by addition of a silane of formula (III) to an alcohol (A2) with at least two OH groups per molecule, which is built up from optionally branched, if necessary containing a halogen atom, 1-6C alkyl, alkoxy, or acyloxy substituted hydrocarbon chains, which if necessary are interrupted by groups selected from:ether, carbonyl, or ester groups, aromatic and cycloaromatic units, where alcohol A2 does not contain urethane or urea units.
