PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat ray absorption roller which is easily manufactured because it is hardly cracked by stress from both ends of translucent base sub stance in manufacturing. SOLUTION: This fixing roller member consists of the translucent base substance having translucency to a heat ray, a translucent elastic layer having translucency to the heat ray disposed on the outside of the translucent base substance, and a heat ray absorption layer. When an elastic member and a holding member for holding the translucent base substance through the elastic member are attached to both ends of the translucent base substance and the holding member is pressed in the shaft longitudinal direction of the translucent base substance, stress is not exerted from the inner surface of the translucent base substance to the outer circumference direction in part of the elastic member coming into contact with the leading end of the translucent base substance out of the elastic members. The fixing roller member is manufactured by molding by injecting liquid material for forming the translucent elastic layer into the space between the outer circumference of the translucent base substance and the inner surface of the molding metallic die or the heat ray absorption layer after installing at the specified position of the molding metallic die.
