PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal tranfer sheet which is free from hue variations in a recorded image and highly light-resistant and causes no image quality deterioration, in a multi-color imaging method using a laser beam irradiation process and the multi-color imaging method using the heat tranfer sheet. SOLUTION: This thermal transfer sheet has a photothermal conversion layer with a ratio (ODLH/TLH) between an optical density (ODLH) and a layer thickness (TLH μm) of not less than 0.57 and an imaging layer formed on a support. The imaging layer and the image receiving layer of an image receiving sheet are superposed in such a way that these layers are opposite to each other and irradiated with a laser beam. Further, the region irradiated with the laser beam of the imaging layer is transferred onto the image receiving layer to record an image. In this usage, the thermal transfer sheet uses a dye of a specific structure as a photothermal conversion substance of the photothermal conversion layer. Also the multi-color imaging method using the thermal transfer sheet is provided. |
