PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple board sorting method for manufacturing surface acoustic wave device, which has proper properties and is high in frequency, uniformity, with high yield. SOLUTION: This board is for a surface acoustic wave device consisting of single crystals of langanite (La3 Ga5.5 Nb0.5 O14 ), where the ordinary refractive index being measured at a temperature of 20-30 deg.C, using a He-Ne laser is 1.9500-1.9505 or the extraordinary refractive index is 1.9710-1.9765.
