OPTICAL ELEMENT HOLDING STRUCTURE OF SHIELD CASE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element holding structure of a shield case employing excellent countermeasures against heat as well as noise. SOLUTION: Body part 2a of an optical element 2 is fitted in the body part 7 of a shield case 3 being contained in a case containing recess made in the housing of an optical connector, and the lead terminal 2b of the optical element 2 is held while projecting from the case body part 7. Gel or liquid heat transfer material 15 is injected into the gap between the inner circumferential surface of the case body part 7 and the outer circumferential surface of the element body part 2a and then hardened except the position of a window 7a for optical communication opened in the case body part 7.
