PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the display characteristic of a liquid crystal display device by making it possible to provide sufficient holding capacitors in the display device and also to improve the productivity at the time of assembling of a substrate on which thin film transistors are formed and a counter substrate by increasing the aligning margin between the substrates. SOLUTION: This display device is a liquid crystal display device in which a black matrix is formed on the same substrate as a substrate on which thin film transistors for driving liquid crystal are formed and source-side wirings of the thin film transistors serve as the black matrix and the black matrix orthogonal to the source wirings is formed in island shapes and the black matrix orthogonal to the source wirings are electrically connected to drain electrodes of the thin film transistors with an insulating film. |
