PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set that can contactlessly wire/read information to/from a tag mounted on the portable telephone set to activate the portable telephone set. SOLUTION: The tag 60 mounted on an enclosure 9 of the portable telephone set 1 to activate the telephone set 1 is provided with contact I/F sections 61, 65 electrically in contact with the enclosure 9 to transmit/receive information to/from the enclosure 9 and the enclosure 9 is provided with an antenna 90 that contactlessly writes/reads information to/from the tag 60 and a contact I/F section 70 that is electrically in contact with the contact I/F section 65 to transmit/receive the information sent/received through the antenna 90 to/from the tag 60 and the portable telephone set contactlessly writes/reads the information to/from the tag 60 through the antenna 90.
