PURPOSE: An electric switch apparatus and an electronic ballast using the same are provided to improve switching speed and reduce power loss when the switches are on/off. CONSTITUTION: An electric switch apparatus comprises a switching control unit(111), a transformer(115), a switch control output unit(117), and a switch unit(119). The switching control unit(111) makes switch elements on/off with a predetermined frequency according to the switching signals. The transformer(115) receives an input power and performs chopping at the square wave of the frequency by relaying the input power according to the on/off states of the switch elements. The switch control output unit(117) rectifies the square wave and outputs the rectified wave as a DC power. The switch unit(119) is on/off states according to the DC power.
