PURPOSE: To reduce the power consumption of a MOS-type solid-state image pickup device and to reduce random noise. CONSTITUTION: The device is provided with a sensor part 22 where a plurality of pixels are arranged, a vertical scanning part and a horizontal scanning part 24, which scan the pixels of the sensor part 22, an output part 26 to which signals outputted from the sensor part 22 are supplied, a bias current adjusting part 30 varying the bias current of the output part 26, a driving signal generating part 27 supplying driving signals to the vertical scanning part 23, the horizontal scanning part 24 and the output part 26 and an input part 28 supplying a plurality of driving mode signals to the driving signal generation part 27. A driving frequency is varied by a plurality of the driving mode signals and a signal changing bias current in accordance with a plurality of the driving mode signals is supplied to the bias current adjusting part 30.
