PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attachment/detachment control device for a lid of a drier capable of superiorly safely and automatically attaching/detaching the lid by indirectly detecting the attachment/detachment of the lid when automatically attaching/detaching the lid of the rotary drum drier. SOLUTION: This attachment/detachment control device for the lid of the drier is provided with a worker detecting device 8 detecting the presence/absence of the worker on a safety mat 7 for the working of the rotary drum 1, a handle detecting device 6 detecting the presence/absence of a handle 3 used for installation of the lid 2 on its mount position, and a lid detecting device 9 detecting the presence/absence of the lid 2 removed by a magnet 5a. When no worker is detected, no handle 3 is detected on the mount position, and it is determined no removed lid 2, the magnet 5a is made to advance/retreat so as to remove the lid of the drier.
