PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverted microscope with which effective image recorders can be efficiently combined and monitor observation without requiring eyepieces and image recording can be easily carried out. SOLUTION: The front side of a microscope body has an image output port for forming the image of an observation sample on the outside surface facing an observer downward of a body tube with which the eyepiece is fitted. Either one of at least two kinds of image pick-up units is selectively attachably and detachably constituted at the image output port.
