PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of storing optimization of a storage device enabling to store an optimum file system with automatic determination and selection regardless of any relation to the size of data to be stored. SOLUTION: In a storage device 3 of a computer system, a storage device having a plurality of file systems 4, 5 and 6 having different block sizes and an automatic determination means 2 of block size to determine automatically the file systems 4, 5 and 6 having an optimum block size to the data size to be stored into the device 3 are equipped, so that the data is stored into the file system selected by the means 2.
