PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal compensation circuit and a demodulation circuit in which DC potential compensation can be executed at high speed and DC variation due to continuation of the same codes can also be compensated for. SOLUTION: The signal compensation circuit comprises an amplification means having an output signal level regulation terminal for amplifying the input signal, an integration means for imparting the charging voltage of a capacitor to the output signal level regulation terminal, a low speed compensation means for detecting variation in the DC level of an output signal from the amplifying means and varying the charging voltage of the capacitor depending on the time constant from the integration means, and a high speed compensation means for detecting the amplitude level of an output signal from the amplifying means and varying the charging voltage of the capacitor at a high speed. The demodulation circuit comprises means for detecting an input signal at the input stage of the signal compensation circuit, and means for comparing an output signal from the amplification means with a reference level to determine a logical level at the output stage of the signal compensation circuit.
