PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing L1 signals and L2 signals received from at least one satellite of the Global Positioning System, a technique for using carrier-wave signals modulated by an A code having anti-deception properties without knowing the A code, a technique for determining the relative phases of GPS satellite signals with high resolution, and an improved radio frequency front end section for a GPS receiver. SOLUTION: A commercial receiver for the Global Positioning System(GPS) is provided with digital processors (37-41), and the integration of the L1 signals and the L2 signals is repeatedly executed over all the period estimated to be the cycle of a modulating code after demodulation by locally generated carrier waves and P code signals. The L1 signals of a C/A code which is not modulated by an unknown code for security are used for locking locally generated carrier waves and a P code generator into the same phase as those of the received L1 satellite signals and L2 satellite signals. It is possible to utilize the locked phase for determining locations, distances, and time similarly to a GPS receiver which does not utilize anti-deception signals but of which the accuracy and resolution are improved. |
